Today I assisted on a job with a fantastic model. I can't talk about what it was for of course, but I can show you an image of some of the men watching her.

We shot all over the city and everywhere we went people would understandably stop and stare at our production. Some people even started to look over the shoulder of the photographer, inches away, at the digital tech's computer screen as the shots popped up. That was a bit much but everyone has different sets of rules for personal boundaries I guess. When the model is outside there is a vulnerability to her and I get protective. And when too many gawkers are getting in the way sometimes you have to ask people for space. (It's tricky to do that though as you realize that you don't own the street.) This is nothing new of course-people tend to get overly excited and intrusive. This happens on many shoots when you are shooting on the street and there are people around.
