Notice that her earring is twisted? They didn't have photoshop in the 80's like we do now. I am thinking that each print was individually airbrushed if at all (as opposed to doing it on a computer.) Today the magazine would have fixed this digitally.
Notice her mole near her mouth has been removed on this cover above.
