Pure Poetry

Let it be known that the best of the best in hair and makeup create these looks for John Galliano (and Dior for that matter.)
For anyone outside of fashion it must also be shared that there is a heavy amount of research and prep work behind these looks. Once ideas are thought out, hair and makeup tests are performed for the designer days before the show, with research most likely coming from paintings and/or photographs of old Hollywood for this show in particular. And then the lead makeup artist and lead hairstylist will guide a team of assistants to help replicate all of these looks and variations on twenty or so models on the actual fashion show day. Everything is exremely planned and organized.
See their guide board for example: I am overwhelmed just looking at it.

Iekeliene! Her face is like a sculpture.

If you take away the hair and makeup and focus on just the clothes, you will see that they are actually very wearable. And if a dress is shown sheer on the runway, the designer will add a slip underneath to be sold with the look. Clothes are almost always tweaked for the actual purchase.
