I think this look sealed the deal for actress January Jones. Really really really smart choice on her part-the bright color, the orange matte lips. She to me looked the most fresh yet still like an old Hollywood movie star, and this moment seals her fate as a new sort of celebrity fashion icon. Be prepared to see her on magazine covers in the coming months. And sure, it doesn't hurt that she is on a hit show.
This is my rationalization and what I have witnessed over the years:
If you are an actress and you want to be on the cover of magazines, you have to be extremely well dressed and stylish. That is why you will see so many young actresses at fashion shows, dressed to the "T."If you can impress the fashion folk, you are set for more media coverage in the big fashion magazines......
***A side note: she was a model in one of my favorite shoots ever-Italian Vogue in 2000, shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Lori Goldstein. It was where the models were photographed posing on cars under highway underpasses or ravines, not sure what you would call them. I will try to find the image online.
